MAC Product Releases: Naughty Nauticals and Neo Sci-Fi May 2008

Looks like we have more MAC treats coming our way come May. With summer around the corner, it's hard to tell what MAC has in store just from the promotional pictures although it sure has my mind wondering.

I'm very curious about the lineup for these two releases, especially Naughty Nautical seeing that this release has a quad, 5 eyeshadows and 4 pigments! As for Neo Sci-Fi, I hope the eyeshadows are *ahem* C-Shock inspired - wee! And did someone say blush? Only time will tell but I foresee some hauls if the colors are right.

4 Lipsticks
4 Lipglosses
5 Eye Shadows
4 Pigments

So what is everyone up to this weekend? Does anyone have to recover from Heatherette spending or is it safe to say that the dough will be going towards a different upcoming MAC collection?

Aloha,
Mrs. Lynne

i have my eyes wide open for the Neo Sci-Fi. I wasn't impressed with Heatherette and when items started flying off shelves, i paid more attention to the swatches, videos and decided to get Style Minx. I thought i was going to break the bank with Heatherette and eat ramen noodles for the rest of the month. I hope Neo Sci-Fi is c-shock inspired!

Thanks for posting this Lynne!! Not so sure about the nauticals, but Neo Sci-Fi looks wonderful. I hope it's all about bright, summer colors!

As far as this weekend goes, I plan on playing with my new makeup. My boyfriend decided that instead of making me an Easter basket full of candy, he would let me pick out some makeup instead! Isn't he wonderful? He took me to CCO and got me a fluidline, pigment, eyeshadow, and longwear lipcolor. I'm excited to try the longwear lipstick, it's my first. I also got 4 NYX glosses. He said,
"I don't understand how you can spend 75 dollars on makeup in twenty minutes." He doesn't know I dropped the same amount yesterday for Heatherette and spent 40 on Tuesday on a CherryCulture haul. But what he doesn't know won't hurt him. :) What does your husband think of all the makeup madness?

oh my god. just when i thought mac couldn't possibly have any more great collections... the nautical stuff sounds HOT. i can't wait... thank goodness heatherette wasn't as awesome as fafi. but i still haven't even touched it. i also cant wait for the mineralize powder foundations! i think that's what it is. i'm really excited about that one! just got two of the beauty powders and i'm loving it A LOT. btw, you have some great heatherette swatches.

hey make-up momma..i need your help!..:) being the p/p whore like you said, i knew you're the best person to ask this :), i have Cash Flow, and used it the 2nd time today i think..i used it as base for Jardin Aires pigment..Is this p/p really creamier than the rest?..after i applied it on my lids, my lids looked like some 99 year-old lady's skin..lol..and also, when i applied pigment over it, it started to flake..hmm?..is yours the same way?..what could have i done wrong?..thanks!

whoa!! MAC seriously needs to SLOW DOWN before my bank account goes bust!! lol!!

i'm looking forward to both collections! i'm hoping that neo sci-fi would be better than last year's C-shock. i love the colors of c-shock, but the pigmentation is really poor so i didn't get anything. now i'll just hope that the MAC store here hurries up and catch up on all those collections!! we're still stuck at N-Collection!! good grief!! lol!

Me too nywele! I thought our whole family would be on a ramen diet also! Thank goodness that was not the case.

I too hope that Neo Sci-Fi is C-Shock inspired. I missed on that collection. Were you able to grab anything from C-Shock?

Your bf does sound very sweet Kristen Elisabeth! It's good he knows the key to your heart ;)

You have me crackin' up though! I totally agree that what they don't know won't hurt them ;) I pulled the same stunt recently, lol.

Hubbo doesn't mind that my passion is makeup, but I know that he'd 1) wish it didn't take long to get ready to run errands and 2) that all this buying would turn into a money maker. One step at a time though ;)

How does your bf handle it?

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

Hah! You saod Cosmic Bowling christy.!!! I haven't done that in ages!

I'm really hoping for C-Shock inspired. Were you into MAC back then when that released?

Hi Xuanie!

I love your family. Always well connected and down for each other.

Good for you girl, I'm proud of you! I got the entire BPB Collection :X If I could refer you to one, definitely BPB ;)

My weekend was good. Painted eggs with the Big Tyke and watch him throw the hard boiled eggs into the bucket when he found them. That was priceless, hah.

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

I agree eikcaj. Heatherette is hit or miss for me. But I am loving the BPBs!

Can't wait for May! What in the collections are you looking forward to?

Hey mandilicious :)

I haven't dug into my Cash Flow recently but I have an idea of what you're talking about. I have noticed that some p/ps are a bit more emollient than others.

It sounds like as you're putting on the p/p that it's drying rather quickly than when you put a wet layer over it, it's caking up the consistency. Similar to cheap nail polish - it goops up with each layer if you don't let it dry between layers. I could be wrong, but I'm just taking a stab at it :)

Are your brushes clean? Does the p/p seem to resemble the nail polish scenario?

The flaking could be because the p/p is too dry. The pigment may not be adhering well which is why it seems spotty and flakes.

Girl, I'm just taking a stab in the dark with your scenario. I'll have to play around with those two and see for myself if I encounter the same problem. But does it make any sense at all what I'm saying?

Anyhow, one thing I would suggest is to try dabbing your brush slightly in moisturizer before dipping it into the p/p. This might give it the added moisture it needs to resist the old lady skin and the flaky pigment. Let me know, ok :) I hope that helped some.

Snoozer crazychick!! They need to release everything nationwide at the same time. I wonder why they do that? *scratches head*

But I'm definitely looking forward to both also. Yay for us addicts, hah!

ohhhh neo sci-fi looks more my speed than naughty nauticals, cuz i love bright colors! i spent a whole crap load on heatherette, i need a break!

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

After I saw the so-called Sandra Bullock look-alike, I thought of you girl. I know you and the brights :)

I'm so glad that April is catch up month. They should do that every other month for us! Seriously!!

I'm looking forward to the dazzleglass, naughty nauticals, and possibly the sci-fi collections. I'm so hooked on all these collection releases that I hardly have any regular MAC products. But I guess I have until the end of the year before they decide to discontinue anything... haha. Have you checked these out, yet? http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/6014084/0~2377897~2383939~2378438~6014084
Available at MAC in April permanently and liminted time at Nordstroms, I believe.

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

Hi eikcaj,

My collection is mostly comprised of collection releases also. I barely have any permanent products. Doesn't it make you wish they'd go for a couple months without releases to just relax, hah!

The Mineralize Loose SPF 15 was released at Nordstroms before freestanding stores, I believe. The Nordstroms here had a very late shipment of them. Will you be going to check them out?
