Here I am in my Valentine's Day face. We had fried rice at our favorite place that just makes bomb-dig on the fried rice, took the tykes to the arcade after, then landed ourselves at Wal-Mart for more diapers. Now, that is a well spent Valentine's Day folks, hah!
So of the Fafi paint pots, Cash Flow was hands down the next one I had roll around in like the silly mad makeup girl that I am. The overall paint pot reminds me of Uppity fluidline from the holidays; same vibrancy except less creamier in consistency but entirely more workable than those dang-nabit Metal-X eyeshadows.
I honestly don't know what I was trying to achieve here, but decided to scratch the drawing board with some new ideas. Sushi Flower looked like it was getting lonely, so breaking it out to play like a good makeup mother, I decided to highlight the area above my crease with it. Who would have ever thunk, right? (Yes, I know that's not how you spell it, hah). It really would have dampened my day if I was looking for the true color of Sushi Flower on my lid, but instead I got the color that I did. But the color it turned out to be in using it above the crease worked out beautifully.
I have also noticed that since I've been given the go-ahead to wear contacts again (ya!), the Graphblack Technakohl liner that I use for my waterline (inner rim of the lower lashline) seems to be working much better. The markings of this liner is remarkably intense black and with as intense as it is in a single swipe, before I would always have to scribble in onto my waterline. But for some reason, my contacts are keeping the waterline area dry enough for it to achieve it's potential color without force.
Are you a waterline scribbler? Or does the thought of putting anything on it make you shiver?

Mrs. Lynne

Your every look is always stunning! I like it! This one is very neutral for work and everyday wear.
Looking at this, I am SO glad I ordered Cash Flow! It looks beautiful :D
Ooh pretty and elegant! FYI: I'm headed to maccosmetics.com to get Cash Flow and Lip conditioning treatment right now!
Have a fabulous Friday!
ha
grrrrrrl you are an evil enabler - making me want to go back to MAC this weekend to pick up some paint pots and eyeshadows! Sushi Flower is usually really bright, from what I've seen when others have used it, but it looks really nice and subtle in your photos.
yay for being able to wear contacts again! I'm used to scribbling in my waterline, but it always manages to fade after a few hours - even with cream/gel liners!
Happy Friday! and if I ever find myself visiting Hawaii again, it would be so fun to meet & go to that Stupid Factory you mentioned :)
Oh yessss, Mrs. Lynne. I totally dig this. Beautiful!! What's your take on Cash Flow? The counter I went to didn't even have it out. Does it have green undertones? Hmmm....whatev. You make it work. And I love how Sushi Flower is subtly thrown in there.
I think we should all have a Meet & Greet in Hawai'i. Going back would be my heart's desire!! Party at Auntie Lynne's!!! Happy Friday!
i love this look, its nice for an everyday casual look!! Now im going to have to check out Sushi Flower when i go shopping! I just bught Cashflow today it looks soo pretty!!! have a good weekend!
Scribbler over here! It's like I got makeup remover coming out my damn eyeball! I'm convinced it spews out of that tear duct in the corner. LOL! I have started dabbing black mascara on top of water pencil I use but I'm not too sure if that is safe.
Girl are you sure that is sushi flower? I never seen that color look so so so hmmmmm whats the word calm, yeah calm. Now I got to get cash flow too. I was avoiding it since I already had rubenesque because I didn't feel I needed another goldish sparkle but now seeing what it has done with sushi flower....it might be magic LOL.
oh yeah and I'm loving the buff'd foundaday on you! (foundaday comes from aboywearingmakeup...I thought it was cute :D
Mrs. Lynne,
I LOVE these natural looks on you! The colors are beautiful and you are absolutely glowing for your VDay out :)
I just recently started to line my bottom waterline but not the upper. Even if I poke my eye out, at least I'll still look good! :D
I agree with Lilan! You look so pretty and you definitely sport the natural looks! I love cash flow paint pot myself, reminds me of uppity with more green tones and I love the staying power!
Gorgeous mamasita! Love you sis!
Looks really good. I am slowingly realizing that the Fafi collection is great pieces. As a whole collection it sucks. What I mean is that if your going to wear greens then maybe add the green in fafi eyes 1 by the tear duct. I dont know. I am just disappointed. I digress.
Cash flow is a very nice paintpot, I actually really like it. It looks good on you..
I am a rambler today.
sushi flower for me doesn't come up well on my eyelid, same goes for pen-n-pink, i gotta pack that sucker on. do you have that eyeshadow? and if you do, do you have the same prob? we seem to have almost the same skin tone.
but as always, you look so lovely. i love this look on you.
You are seriously a H-O-T-T mama. LOL. Love this look. Please do a tut on this look and your nice vice look because I love them both!
The thought of waterlining makes me shudder. I learned how to from my little sis (lol she actually got me into MAC), and watching her makes me shudder. *Shudders* That and my eyes just feel weird when I waterline.
Where is this yummy fried rice place that you mention? Have you ever had kim chee fried rice? Its yummy. The one at Zippy's isn't bad.
mrslanielovesmac That's right girl! You can definitely smoke this one out for a more dramatic night-time wear :)
And thank you kindly for the feedback! Happy Aloha Friday.
Julie Cash Flow is a gorgeous color! I think you'll enjoy playing with it. Don't be surprised if you keep on staring at the pot, lol.
Hijabi Apprentice Hah! Looks like we can share makeup bags love ;) Btw, do you have your peeps set on anything from the Fafi collection?
mayaari Sushi Flower is really bright, and right up there next to Passionate! Remember that one purple FOTD I did? Since I washed it above my crease, that's what it looks like on tanner skin without packing. Or I guess, brown-based pink, lol.
I had the same problem with my waterline. Now, only the outer corners fade. But only moreso on the part of the rim that actually touches the eye. I've only tried fluidline on my waterline once and didn't really like running a brush on there. And must be just me, but it doesn't go on as great as the Technakohl. It looks crooked, lol.
The Stupid Factory is the mall shop in Ala Moana. They have some funny ass t's there. Like I found this one shirt that read something like: "I need another drink. You're still ugly." LOL! Those totally crack me up. We can totally cruise the mall or go for like shaved ice or something!
Divine Blackness Cash flow is seriously beautiful. It does have green undertones but still gives off that goldish appeal.
A Meet & Greet in Hawai'i would be awesome! Wouldn't it be so fun if everyone could come at the same time and we can do like a weekend slumber party?! Makeovers, have some drinks, and talk story?? One day girl,.. one day :)
Xuanie Sushi Flower is a fairly bright pink. But since I'm on the tanner side of things, the true color comes off faintly especially when washed. Which is why I chose it for above the crease, hah.
What are your thoughts on Cash Flow? Do you know what you plan on pairing it with yet?
Shawnta LOL! My makeup remover seeps out the outer corner. Ain't that just wrong?!?
Right?? Sushi Flower on a calm day, nah! But yup, that's it with a 217 brush in a windshield wiper motion. Crazy, huh? I really don't know what I was thinking, but it made it on the brush and was like, "ok... I guess I'll juuust stiiick it... err, here!" Lol.
Isn't Mathieu just the cutest?! I haven't watched his videos in a while. Can barely keep up here, lol. But this is a fabulous formula. How is Caramel working for you? Still matching right?
Nilla Cookie Thanks for the love hun!
You know, I'm the same way. Hubbo is always like, "where do you think you're going?!?" I'm stuck in the house with Big Tyke running wild and baby screaming bloody murder, so if I go out, you best believe Imma look hot, lol.
Of course, then I get in trouble for taking too long, hah. But like you said, at least I'll still look good. Hubbo's always joking "I make you look good". Like he knows ;) Hah.
Nessa You and me are the paint pot whores! Woot.
Can't wait to see what you have grillin' with Cash Flow!
Seymone I agree. It was a rather big hype for this collection that it's kinda of sad that the colors didn't deliver. I have the Fafi Eyes 2 and am just not really motivated by the colors - why on earth did I buy it?! I thought it was going to be a rather bold collection, but the only bold I really found was Nice Vice, Cash Flow, and Rollickin'. Let's hope Heatherette isn't onto the same trend, hah.
missjaclynrose Don't have pen-n-pink.. matte2, right? But for the lighter pinks, I have to PACK PACK PACK if I'm putting it on the lid in addition to a good color enhancing base. Otherwise, it's just uggghhh. It really has to be because we're tan colored.
What else do you have from matte2? That was actually before my "I go coo-coo for MAC" days, if you can believe that, lol!
i have fig 1, post haste, pen-n-pink, and poisen pen from matte2, that's when I actually starting buying from mac and actually the first shadows I've owned from MAC. hard to believe that you weren't coo-coo for MAC yet at that time. you must've acquired (and spent) so much in so little time. what bases do you use for the lighter pinks? i had sushi flower, but I returned it because of the fact i have to pack it on, but i still have pen-n-pink and it just sits there because I rarely use it. enlighten me, please.
You alway looks great~~~~v(n_n)v
This look is very neutral for everyday wearing especially school time.
BTW, I'm desperate for learning smoky eye techniques to make my eyes bigger (be looked bigger, I mean). would you mind come and see the picture in my blog and give me a tutorial sometimes? thanks~~~~HUG
i love it, it's neutral but gorgeous. :] it looks lovely on you sis. :D
great looks!! thanks for sharing. i'm loving that you are putting these products to work and not just letting them collect like uhh me =/ LOL you are inspiration lol
Krystle Hey hun. As soon as I can square some time, I will do tutorials on the eyes :)
You know what makes me feel weird, is tightlining (the upper lashline rim). It doesn't feel right yet, but I do it (rarely) when it just looks like my liner and mascara haven't made a big enough statement.
Omg, Hubbo LOVES kim chee fried rice! He really likes the one from Big City Diner. And the fried rice place is in Kapolei in the marketplace. They make such good fried rice and you can choose from shrimp, beef, pork, and a couple other ones!
missjaclynrose Yes, ma'am. I did acquire quite a bit in a short amount of time. I actually made my first MAC purchase during the summer (8 pots I think), but I was just beauty blog surfing. Then outta nowhere, I got all motivated and the rest is history. You can actually see my hauls of the insanity in this blog because I actually started this when the addiction went full blown.
But you know how it is. When you start something, the initial investment is always the one that hurts the most, hah.
For lighter pinks, I would either use something like Fresco Rose p/p or something purple like Fafi's Girl Friendly p/p. Even Nice Vice will work under. If you check out the FOTD I did using Sushi Flower on the lid, I used a Cream Color Base. Something tacky really does help for the lighter pinks and a CCB works well. But it is definitely a creaser so you have to make sure to pair it with something under that'll hold it in place VERY WELL; preferable something that really dries on the eyelid.
Anyhow, let me know what you think if you try it, ok? :)
Angela Thanks Angela! I will try out that look hopefully this weekend and if I can make it work, I'll do a tut once I can square some time away :)
Chris Thanks sis! You always have such heartwarming comments to look forward to :)
yummy411 Lol. If I don't play with them now, I might not ever get to it yums, hah. After this they'll probably chill in the lounge a bit.
