MAC Swatch Comparison: Eversun Beauty Powder Blush VS. Sunbasque & Peachtwist Blush

I've had a SEVERE case of cabin fever this past week since the cold/flu seems to have struck our house again. I wish they would quit stopping by unannounced! It's very rude!

Deciding to cut our errands short yesterday due to Big Tyke's old man cough, Hubbo said something that shocked me because even though he's very understanding of "Me Time", he normally doesn't say things like this: "Hun, I'll take care of the boys so you can have some time to yourself. Go to the mall and do your swatches, or whatever it is that you do, and don't worry about a thing. I'll take care of them."

So Mommy got some time without the tykes to do as she pleased for a couple hours. And where did she go? To the mall of course! Did my due diligence and swatched MAC's Beauty Powder Blush Collection and even treated myself to a few of the products as well.

Aside from the Beauty Powder Blushes which are all very gorgeous, I picked up the MAC 169 which is featured with the MAC Beauty Powder Blush Collection. It is an angled face brush and is made of synthetic bristles whereas the 168 is made of goat hair according to the MA that was helping me. The bristles of the MAC 169 feel much softer than those of the MAC 168, which is why I opted for the 169 instead. I own the MAC 168SE from the Antiquitease Collection and don't use it because the bristles are harsh and turn the area I'm using it on red. The MAC Brush Sets are supposedly manufactured by machines versus the full-size brushes which are hand sculpted. I can attest to the quality BIG TIME!

Some readers are curious as to how Eversun compares to Sunbasque, a popular one of MAC's Sheertone Shimmer blushes. When comparing the two, Eversun appears more flat in color than Sunbasque does because it does not have the shimmered pearl sheen to the extent that Sunbasque has. Eversun looks to be in the same line of peach as Sunbasque is but with more bronzing properties and more coral to it's color. Sunbasque is definitely more peach toned with evident shimmer.

I threw Peachtwist in the mix also since it is very similar to Sunbasque in the sense of peaches. Peachtwist is a bit more on the golden rose side of things and can easily be considered a rosier or more of a coral peach. The base color of Peachtwist and Eversun seem to be close in color (not including the shimmer pearl sheen) but Peachtwist is much more coral overall. It is the shimmered pearl sheen in the Sheertone Shimmer blushes (Peachtwist and Sunbasque) that are definitely distinguishable from the Beauty Powder Blushes.

In my opinion, Eversun is a nice peachy bronze to have on hand. If you like Sunbasque and want to have it in a beauty powder blush form, but without the shimmery pearl sheen and a tad rosy, I would suggest to try out Eversun. You never know until you swatch!

i missed the 169 brush the last time they launched it, so i'm definitely checking it out if it comes here. i'm hoping that it's as soft as i imagine it to be! i don't have the heart to use my 168SE lest i dirty the white bristles. lol.

thanks for the comparisions dear girl!! i love peachtwist, so i'm definitely checking out eversun!! :D

Thanks crazychick :) Hubbo is super, hah.

I bought the 169 from this collection and it is pretty soft. But if there is a soft brush, it is the 138 that was released with Sculpt & Shape. Now THAT girl, is a SOFT BRUSH!! I have the 168SE also and for some reason that one is very ouchy on me. Do you have the same problem?

You HAVE to get your hands on Eversun. This is definitely a blush I will reach for more often :)
