MAC's Beauty Powder Blushes were released last week. Between then and now, I've heard many great things about them so checking them out in person was very exciting.

The following swatches of the collection were applied using a MAC 252 to showoff the pigmentation of these beauties. I love all the colors and really think that the line can work with us warmer skinned ladies. Some colors may need to be applied sparingly while others may need to be layered on a bit, but the payoff is wonderful.

At the right angle, you will notice the pearl sheen in these blushes which is very subtle yet defining to the color shade of each blush. It's not chunky glitter but a very nice overlay of shimmer; hardly noticeable unless, like I said, caught at the right angle.

I picked up Eversun, which will work as a nice bronzer, and Sweetness, the pinkest of the bunch. Here's the thing on Sweetness. It looks pretty pink when layered on the way it is in the swatch right? But when applied lightly on the cheekbone, it is such a playful color and not bright at all.

All in all, I will probably go back and pick a couple more up. As I'm looking at the swatches, I'm definitely eyeing Serenity. Something about the tomato red just has me compelled one way or another.

Which of the MAC Beauty Powder Blushes will you get or do you have already?

Aloha,
Mrs. Lynne

Happy Monday Lynne! I picked up Joyous last week. I loved all the colors from this line, but Joyous' coral-peachy color pulled me in for Spring cheeks! =D I love the texture of the powder blush and how it blends smoothly. I think imma pick up True Romantic, but I'll wait until I see the Heatherette line...Man this is going to be an expensive year =X!! haha...Have a good week!

Eversun looks gorgeous! That's the one I have been lemming, but the description makes it sound like sunbasque. How does it compare to sunbasque?

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Ooh thank you for the swatches! Serenity and Joyous seem to be calling my name. :)

Hey Lynne!
I spent my kids college fund and got em all. ha ha. So that either says 1)I spent a lot or 2) there wasn't much in the fund to start off with. :) KIDDING! Hope your doing well!

i ended up getting eversun which is goregous! but i'm going back to get joyous and true romantic, ahh!! i'm going to be broke before heatherette comes out..

hey girl!! thanks for the swatches! i wanna get Shy Beauty and Joyous, but God knows how many others will i end up bringing home with me when i get to see them in person! lol!! i'm a blush addict! again, i don't know when this'll launch here. My MAC MA said tentatively April, but no promises. Le Sighhhh...

lol! I usually overload on the Vitamin C and H20 too when I’m feeling under the weather. That usually solves the problem and keep those nasty flu bugs away! :D didn’t work this time though.. I’m nursing a bad sorethroat now… *sobs* awww… are you sons better already? :D

oh! The Canon SD850IS! I just checked that out last week! Actually i couldn’t decide whether I want this or the Fuji F50FD, since both of them got good reviews, so I head on over to the camera shop to check them out! This Canon operates really fast (that’s something that Fuji ought to pick up too!) :D I’m using an ancient Fuji E550 – I absolutely love its manual controls and vibrant colors! :D

No, I haven’t checked the Viva Glams out! I saw them at a corner last Friday. Will check them out the next time I’m at the MAC store. I totally adore the old Viva Glam VI Gloss which I got for a friend. I so want it for myself!! Haha!! :D

Oh yeah, about the Aspirins! I just follow the usual method – I crush one and mix it with my facial cleanser to scrub my face. My face feels soooo smooth after that! Like some girls it makes me a little nauseous though, so I try not to do that too often! Lol!

Keep blogging girl!! I come to your site for my daily makeup fix! I’ll die of withdrawal symptoms if you stop! Lol just kidding!! Take care!! :D

You know I'm so in love with these powders - esp Joyous! I agree, Sweetness can look bright and intimidating when it's in the pan or swatched, but it really is gorgeous!

hey mrs. lynne! i walked away with shy beauty mainly because i was being helped by an MA who isn't crazy about blush. my pockets thanked her then, but i'm sure i'll go back for more. sweetness is on the radar cuz it's unique. i have a few others lined up but we shall see what happens. i don't think my pockets appreciate the warfare LOL

have you tried fabulush CCB on your cheeks? it's a reddish orange with gold shimmer. i got it as a recommendation from one of the mags like comso or allure. i love it!

Hi BeautyChick101!

These are beautiful. It really is hard to walk away without all of them, lol.

How is your week going so far?

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

Hi imee.

I definitely want to go back for Serenely (I misspelled it on the swatches, sorry). Eversun seems to be a really big hit so I definitely think you'll dig it when you see it at the store.

Do you have any of MAC's Beauty Powders?

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

Hello Kristen Elisabeth.

I love the color of Serenely. The funny thing about Serenely is that when I went to the counter after swatching at the MAC store, the blushes were all over the place. So when I asked the MA about Serenely, she didn't recognize the name and told me that they didn't have it. I didn't want to seem like I knew more than her, so I just let it be, lol. But I will go back and get it later, lol.

Hey Stephanie.

Good choice in going with Joyous! That, True Romantic, and Feeling have me debating who I should take home.

And you're right! It is going to be an expensive year. Have you decided what you know you'll get from Heatherette?

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

You're welcome Meiseen!

True Romantic is very pretty. Since you did get Shy Beauty and Joyous, I think you would enjoy True Romantic as well since it does seem like a nice middle ground between the two. But definitely check it out and swatch it to see how you like/LOVE it, hah.

Have a great week Meiseen!

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

Yo Krystle! I love Eversun. Beautiful kiss from the sun without the added pearl of Sunbasque. Definitely a softer version.

How is your week so far?

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

You have to go and see them Hijabi Apprentice! I think you'll be pleased with Serenity and Joyous.

How have you been doing?

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

PeeChee,

You are sooo funny! Girl, you are so lucky me and you aren't shopping during the day together! Our kids would NEVER go to college, lol.

So, do you have a favorite of the bunch that you picked up?

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

Hi Catherine!

Those are some very nice ones to go back and get! These collections are so hard to just only have one from them, huh? Lol. But I am totally going to need to go into recovery with this and Heatherette. Oy!

Do you know what you'll want from Heatherette?

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

Hi crazychick.

If you're a blush addict, it wouldn't surprise me if you went crazy and got them all, lol. But April? Dang! That's too far.

I pop Vitamin C like candy when I can feel the onset of a cold. Thanks for asking about the kids. Big Tyke still has the cough going on but at least the fever has died down and he's normal temperature now. Those always scare me! And Baby just has the wet cough action going on. As long as we steer clear of the fevers and whooping coughs, I can handle, heh.

I'm really liking the camera. It did get really good reviews all over. But it could be that I'm still getting used to it but the preview zoom quality is not as clear as it is on my Sony T10, the one that I lost. But when you download the pictures, it's different. I just wish it was just as accurate on the preview screen.

I love Viva Glam Lipstick 1-4! They swatch sooo nicely, I am sooo in love.

I've heard about those Aspirin masks. Never tried but am very curious. I'm a little hesitant though since I had a bad allergic reaction to Ibuprofen and am scared I might encounter similar effects with Aspirin, even if not being digested.

And thanks for the words of encouragement love. I try to blog as often as I can but some days it gets crazy behind the scenes that it makes it impossible. But I'm not going anywhere, that's for sure :)

Anyhow, I hope you feel better too. Lemonade with honey always helps me :)

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

Hi Nilla Cookie.

I'm always down to try new colors that have you thinking otherwise. You just never know once you actually try it. I have this theory that everyone can really wear everything but you just have to find out how it works for you. They really should make this line permanent since there are only a handful of blushes and beauty powders aren't even perm.

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

Good for you Ren! I think I'm always bound to get something from each release to try out and review. But with Heatherette just around the corner, I think I'm in for a scolding, lol.

Do you know what you'll be getting from Heatherette yet?

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

yummy411,

Our wallets can go to MUA (Make Up Anonymous) together, hah. I just happened to have the MA that was wearing Sweetness. She was probably an NC30 something and it looked adorable on her.

I haven't tried Fabulush CCB yet. Or maybe I did, don't remember. I will definitely check that out next time - thanks for the rec! But I know a MA used a cream blush on me before and I loved it! I think I'm starting to become a blush whore... yikes.

nilla cookie said...

I totally hear ya when it comes to everyone being able to wear any color. It just depends on your comfort level and finding the best shade to flatter you.

I'm wearing Sweetness today with Strobe Blossom and a naked eye (no mascara, eek!). Super sweet for spring! :D

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

Yes Nilla Cookie. Very well said.

Ooh, that does sound super sweet! Did you ever get that Frenzy blush from Fafi? I don't remember what it's called and don't want to wait for my sloooow laptop to tell me, lol. If so, how does it compare to Sweetness?

Xuanie said...

I dont know why i never posted a comment about this! lol, but anways.

I think im going to be getting shy beauty, and also eversun.

shy beauty just looks like a really pretty pink color but not to pink you know. and eversun well because i see you raving about it and also i dont have a coral type of blush. but one question doe sit go on bright or just a hint of color?

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

Happy Sunday Xuanie!

I am IN LOVE with the Beauty Powder Blushes which why I actually had to go and get ALL of them, lol.

One thing about the Beauty Powder Blushes is that a little goes a long way. I 'tap' (not scrape) my 169 in the pot twice and a good amount of color comes off already. So I only apply at 1 or 2 taps at a time to build color. In my opinion, the colors can be soft if you want, but are also very buildable for a more pigmented cheeky look.

Have you gotten a chance to check them out yet?

I looooooooooooooooooooooove Joyous!!!! What do you think about Feeling? I'm trying to decide if I buy it or not!
