Base Trial Introduction

I am one of the many that suffer from oily eyelids along with the fun filled journey of finding a solution to make the eyeshadow to stay put. My eyelids used to be much oilier than they are now. I test this on a makeup-less day by monitoring the oil production that accumulates in or near my crease.

When I first started wearing eyeshadow, creasing was a MAJOR problem. I was recommended to try Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP) and that truly solved the creasing problem. But now as the oil production on my eyelids are changing, UDPP still holds true to not creasing but now appears to be a bit drying making blending out to be a bit of a challenge.

After doing Winterball makeup on my sister-in-law and her friend and how their almost virgin eyelids were very hydrated looking after their makeup was done, it got me thinking about how my eyeshadow looks dry after application.

Because of this, I'm off to do some experimenting in base combinations to see what works and what doesn't work for my eyelids. This will probably be an ongoing assessment as you can imagine the numerous combinations possible. Not to mention, I don't put on makeup everyday. But my goal is to find something that will ultimately be satisfying. That means no (or at least sheerly unnoticeable) creasing while still providing quality color payoff.

Please stay tuned as the results slowly start to unveil themselves :)

Aloha,
Mrs. Lynne

I notice with UDPP if I take it up to my brow bone then the skin looks dry but if I keep it mainly on the lid then it is cool. I will have to take note of any blending issues. I have a cream base that came in a the sparkle face palette that I have never tried, you are inspiring me to give it a whirl.

Mayaari: Hey there! Thanks. I hope I do too, lol.

Shawnta: Any cream on its own for me NEVER works. It only absorbs any shadow placed on top of it. But I've tried it over UDPP and just a thin layer of cream and it holds alright. Just put less cream where your crease is.

And thank you for the kind wishes :) I hope the same for you as well!

Chris: You're the best girl! Much prosperity for you and your loved ones as well :)

Can't wait for the results for this. I also have oily eyelids, damn is it because of Hawaii? lol I crease like no one's business. I don't even want to look down because it can be really bad at times. So far for me the paint and paint pots work the best. Let me know what works for you:)

Distinque: I've had creasing even before Hawai'i, but then I've only been wearing more shadow since I've moved here. I was thinking the same thing that it might be our humidity *shrugs* I can rock paint and paint pots, but I really like the tackiness on the CCB. Stay tuned, it's up and coming :)
