Welcome to [makeupFIX]

Please, just call me, "Mrs. Lynne" :)

Ever since I was a little girl, I've always been fascinated with makeup. Then again, what girl hasn't? I was a simple makeup user (eyeliner, pressed powder, lipstick) on and off since middle school, but most of my makeup career has been spent in the natural until I allowed myself to discover a whole new world of color.

But the truth be told that when it came to wearing makeup, I always turned to the cheaper alternative. I always stayed away from department store counters, MAC and Sephora because spending heavy dollars on similar cosmetics that I could get at Longs didn't appeal to me.

For the longest time I would walk right by the Sephora in the mall. I actually didn't go into Sephora for the first time until a few years ago. And it was because I knew that once I exposed myself to the world of colors, that there would be no looking back. For that same reason, my first visit to MAC wasn't until Christmas 2006. The reason for the visit was to pick up a giftcard for my cousin. But low and behold, it was this subtle introduction that has now found a new home in my heart, bathroom AND checkbook.

So if I can give one piece of advice to those in beginners shoes, makeup can be an expensive hobby depending on your personal taste. Coming from budget cosmetics, I've learned to understand and accept that the huge difference in higher end brands is not just the dollar, but more importantly, the quality.
Investing in better products and tools yield better results. All in all, you get what you pay for with the exception that there are sensible alternatives for each of us.

The reason I've decided to start a blog on my makeup experience is to track my growth in makeup knowledge and application. More of a personal reference but in turn if this helps others out there, then that's even better!

Anyhow, I hope my posts to come will resonate with some. Nonetheless, in my quest for growth constructive criticism is always appreciated :)
