Uppity Fluidline As Base

As an addendum to my "FOTD: Yellow to Purple Eyes", I wanted to review my use of Uppity f/l as a base.

Ease of Use: 5
Color Payoff: 5
Brush Used: 242
Method Used: as a base
Use this method again? yes

Ease of Use
I really like how the fluidline applies to the lid when used in larger amounts as a base in comparison to being used as a liner. Because my intent was not to be precise on how I applied it (unlike lining my eyes), I was able coat my lids enough to act as a base and still get a taste of how smoothly it can go on. I found it much easier to spread across the work area than a paint pot which can be part due to the fact that fluidlines are gel-based. And with the fluidline being more emollient in consistency, I definitely had more control in gliding and dabbing the product across my lids where needed. I also found myself not having to "scrape" at the jar in order to transfer product to my brush.

Color Payoff
Alone, Uppity gives off this rich, intense gold shine. As a base, it naturally enhances eyeshadows of the same color family while adding subtle gold shimmer to washed color; such as the Trax e/s in my photos.

PROS
Easy to apply and control, little goes a long way, great way to add subtle shimmer under a wash of color

CONS
Fluidlines come in smaller jars than paint pots so less bang for the buck when used as a base instead of eyeliner.

Sure, why not!

Hey love. :]

I've never tried MAC's mascaras... because (1) I don't have the cash for it (2) I can't convince myself to pay that much for mascara. LOL. I only really splurge on MAC eyeshadows... and that is VERY rare. LOL.

I would if I had the cash... but I'm lacking in that department as of the moment. :P

I LOVE my camera. I've been playing with it all weekend! LOL. My boyfriend was like, "Hmm... like your camera match." in a smartass matter of fact kinda way. LOL. :]

I do like it better than my old Sony Cybershot... or maybe I'm just glad I have a camera again? LOL. I don't know.

Thanks for the feedback. :] Purple looks really pretty against your skintone too! :] Especially the deeper purple that you used in your last FOTD. Gorgeous!

Hmmm, I've been wondering about Uppity as a base. I just may have to go scoop that up! I absolutely love the FOTD below. It's not too much but it's enough to know that you've got some bomb ass application skills! Great job!

And I loooove the 242 brush sprayed with Fix +. Amaziiiing!

how do you like uppity as a liner which i intended to use it as but it's horrible to me! esp on my waterline! barely noticeable!

i tried it as a base and it is lovely, but since my main intent was a liner i'm thinking of returning it... or just keep it for the collection?? what to do?

-christiana: i would stick to the drugstore mascaras. and your bf's funny. my husband says the same thing when i get whooped over something. he'll joke around and say, "ok, no more MAC" when i start making fun of him, lol!

-divine: uppity as a base works brilliant! you HAVE to pick yourself up one.

-yummy: as a liner on my bare skin, it doesn't appear as much. probably because i have a bit of yellow in my skin so it just blends right in. but over shadow i think it would do fine although i have yet to try.

btw, how do you apply f/l on your waterline? i haven't been too successful in doing this.

if you're like me, i'd end up keeping it just because hypothetically, you might encounter a look that just might call for that gold gel-like substance. or at least that's what i tell myself because sometimes i don't want to admit that i keep them cuz they're pretty, lol!
